Why This Must Be Read: This is Cassie and mini!Jack, working at a diner, and meeting various crossover characters. That's it, really. And yet there is something about this fic that delights me: Cassie and mini!Jack wholly out of the loop, as they should be. Jack knows who Cassie is, but can't say anything, and has no knowledge of events like Janet's death that take place after he leaves the SGC; Cassie herself has no idea that "Jon" might be someone else, as his existence isn't something that would qualify for "need to know."

I personally recognized one crossover but not the other, and it didn't matter in the slightest. It's just fun to see them interacting with one another, when we know so much more than they do and we can understand so much that they can't!

Is this the future I envision for these two? Probably not. But they're both happy, and I don't see what else we could want for Cassie and mini!Jack.

Why This Must Be Read: I adore Cassie and Teal'c friendship fics: the two aliens who have found a place on Earth, but still sometimes feel very much like outsiders. Teal'c offering consolation to Cassie, just after Heroes, is absolutely perfect.

The fic is labeled as "hints at Sam/Jack." This gen girl read it and wondered, "What hints?" So this works with whatever goggles you use. :)


He was her anchor, her alien uncle who reminded her that no matter how truly alien she may feel among the Tauri at times, this was exactly where she belonged.

Why This Must Be Read: This is a beautiful snapshot of Daniel in early S7: doing his thing on a very alien planet while still not quite sure of his place in the universe, on the team, with Jack. But his team - his friends - will back him up, just the same.

This reads like the first part of a bigger story not yet written, but is wholly satisfying on its own, too.

Why This Must Be Read: I have a massive soft spot for Fallen AUs that allow us a deeper exploration into the enigma that is Arrom. This version eventually gets us back into canon, but diverges into a longer time for amnesiac!Daniel with the nomads, including a side-trip to a lost Abydos and the search for himself when he doesn't quite understand what he's seeking. It's a sort of outside perspective of Daniel, with Daniel himself serving as the outside POV, and an interesting read.


They tell him they found him in the outskirts of the city, tell him he must have fallen from the sky. They tell him a lot of things, and he has little else to believe.

Why This Must Be Read: In the wake of Daniel's amnesiac return to life on Earth, Jack hits on the perfect therapy to help restore his memory: browsing (and buying!) his way through half the used bookstores in Colarado.

I love Jack's running thought processes, the Sam sweetness that's happening at the Mountain in their absence, and the genuine friendship that permeates every word of this lovely ficlet.


If anything is going to kickstart Doctor Jackson's missing memories into some sort of working order, his favorite places in the whole of Colorado ought to do it.

Why This Must Be Read: This tense, teamy story reads like a prequel to Orpheus, as Daniel struggles post-Descension to make sense of his own reactions and apprehensions. Very believable, both in events and characterization, and a very good read.

Why This Must Be Read: This is a gentle, moving account of Sara and Jack, eight years after their tragedy, spending some quiet time together on what would have been Charlie's birthday to remember their son.

Sara O'Neill is a stellar class act, and this lovely story does her justice.

Why This Must Be Read: We didn't get to see Daniel and Jack click onscreen in Fallen, so Magickmoons supplies the missing bonding scene with Jack in this story. It's very nice to see Jack being the more optimistic one as he bolsters Daniel's confidence in getting back the kind of memories that can never be replaced - especially those of Sha're.

This is angsty, bittersweet, and ultimately hopeful. Sounds a lot like Jack and Daniel's friendship, doesn't?

Why This Must Be Read: I love when authors focus on actual cultural differences that are inevitable when dealing with multiple worldviews. (Literally!) In this story, M'zel of the Jaffa (from Death Knell) finds himself hugely frustrated in dealing with the Tau'ri... even if he's willing to set those differences aside to deal with their true enemy.

A nice missing scene, some excellent perspectives, good OCs, and a great read. And as a bonus, there's a companion fic, from Major Green's perspective: Circling.
