Why This Must Be Read: Even if you have only the vaguest concept of pTerry's Discworld, this absolute gem of a crossover is not to be missed. Read it for the sheer joy of in-character crackiness as Sam struggles with Discworld "science" and Unseen University, Jack squares off against Carrot and Vimes, Daniel suffers an anthropological crisis and meets Death, and Teal'c disapproves of their accidental annointment into the priesthood of Oz. This is the rational world meeting the irrationality of Discworld and saying, "ow!" - complete with laugh-out-loud moments that will make you want to read it all over again!

By the time Hammond tracks him down in Cascade, it's not just the NID that are after him, but some Lovecraftian creatures with an agenda of their own. Why This Must Be Read: Fic that features Catherine Langford is always a reason to cheer. And in this superb crossover, Catherine meets a younger Susan Pevensie, post Last Battle, as they both take comfort in intellectual pursuits in the wake of their respective griefs.

I love the way that neither Susan nor Catherine ever learns each other's secrets, even if they learn to share both mental challenges and the pain of loss. This is gorgeous backstory, sketching out a minor character and highlighting with her brilliance. Absolutely wonderful!

Why This Must Be Read: This fic is an utter delight, as Aces treats us to ten different times that SG-1 encountered (or almost encountered) a different incarnation of Doctor Who. The ficlets arc through all the seasons, and of course it's not linear -- after alll, there's time travel involved!

The excerpt below is from 1969 (both the ep and the year!), but these are all great fun. So go read and enjoy a romp through the years of SG-1!

Why This Must Be Read: Even if (like me) you know next to nothing about SGA, you will love this story of John Sheppard, stranded and lost on his own home planet... and taken in hand by SG-1.

This is set during The Return and showcases lovely teamy goodness (both SG-1 and SGA) as well as interesting insights into each member of the team and what roles they play in one another's lives. Thoughtful reading that feels just right!


They all turn to smile at him, except for Teal'c who doesn't smile so much as look pleased. John isn't really sure how to feel about the fact that he seems to have been unofficially adopted by SG-1.

Why This Must Be Read: The best crossovers are completely accessible to readers who only know one of the fandoms. Despite never having seen a single ep of Supernatural, I found this hugely entertaining and easy to follow. If you are a fan of SPN, this story slots into Changing Channels, with a new show added to the mix: SG-1!

So what happens when Sam and Dean suddenly find themselves off-world and part of SG-15... only they think it's just another TV show, and not actually real? Things blowing up, Jacob snark, Teal'c hero-worship by young Jaffa, teamy goodness, a cheerful swipe at the Ancients, and a long, satisfying read!

Why This Must Be Read: Okay, so it's eight instead of five, but this is such a delight that I'm reccing it anyway. :)

The Doctor is used to people having the same reaction to the TARDIS -- "It's bigger on the inside!" -- but here are the initial reactions of eight people, from SG-1 and SGA, that don't quite fit the usual mold. I love this for the stellar characterization of those first reactions, the Doctor's bemused responses, and the pleasure of seeing eight brief sketches that carry an entire story within their few lines. Kind of like a TARDIS, come to think of it!

My favorites are Teyla and Daniel, but trust me -- you're going to love them all.

John Sheppard and Rodney McKay meet Superman and Batman in the Pegasus Galaxy, and promptly turn into raving fangirls as they release their inner geekdom... along with everyone else in Atlantis. Who wouldn't be starstruck by the Man of Steel and the Dark Knight, after all?

This well-written crackfic is sheer glee and a shamelessly delightful romp, complete with hilarious epilogue. Go and read this right now!

Why This Must Be Read: This riveting drama reads like a classic horror movie: the broken-down car on a stormy night, the strange small town in the back of nowhere, the two hapless scientists stalked by terrible evil...

Only in this case, the victims in question are Daniel Jackson and Rodney McKay.

These scientists fight back.

Creepy and evocative, with great insight into Daniel's character and an excellent portrayal of McKay, this story will grip you and leave you looking over your shoulder. Eerily, frighteningly good.
