Why This Must Be Read: This is a delightful contemplation of Jack O'Neill by one Sergeant Siler, culminating with exactly what Siler left Jack in his will.

It's wry and deadpan and realistic - just like Siler himself. A joy to read!


As far as Sgt. Siler was concerned, officers were like the weather, hard to predict with any accuracy, beyond the ordinary person's control, and capable of greatly affecting the tenor of a working man's day. And like the weather, most of the activity they generated was made way up high where the air was thin, and fell alike on the just and the unjust down below. His personal approach in dealing with all this was to try to keep his head down and keep going, regardless. What can't be changed must be endured, and in general, it wasn't worth having too much of an opinion about the weather.

Why This Must Be Read: Here's a fun little romp as Sam and Siler end up taking an unscheduled trip through the Gate and need to sneak into a Jaffa barracks to find their way home. Add an adorable epilogue with Siler and Walter, and this story is guaranteed to leave you grinning!

Why This Must Be Read: Siler and his trusty wrench to the rescue! This is a light, fluffy look (with just a dab of somberness) at a day in Siler's life and the various fixes he's called upon to perform... including the last and most important of all. :)


Despite the obvious plus of seeing a very wet Major Carter wrapped in a towel, shampoo dripping through the bloody smear on her cheek, Sergeant Siler knew a fix had better come soon or he might not live to regret it. He glanced at his watch. Major Carter had only a few minutes left before SG-5 would arrive and somehow, he doubted co-ed shower was on her To Do list for today. In desperation, he swung his wrench at the stubborn handle. Steaming hot water poured from the shower. The Sergeant beat a hasty retreat, warmed by the Major's grateful smile.

Why This Must Be Read: This novel-length story is everything you could want in an epic SG-1 adventure. It takes a hard right into AU after Death Knell, and it's chock-full of Daniel and philosophy and Sam and science and Teal'c with his unique viewpoint and the Free Jaffa and Jack as the CO, the one who makes the hard decisions, the one who keeps the team working, and the one who has to deal with the ultimate agony when someone gets irrevocably left behind.

Add McKay and Siler and Hammond and Janet and Jacob into the mix, with heavy elements of Anubis and Ascension and communication with the uncommunicable, and fantastic friendship and dialogue. You'll spend hours reading this, and quite likely want to go right back to the beginning when you're done!
