A visit from Jack and Sam turns into self-examination of loss, choice, courage, and persistence. I love how Cassie knows only what she should and her own insights into the people both she and SG-1 have grown to be. This is a tribute to the young woman Cassie has become, and that final line is a gorgeous metaphor for her future.

Why This Must Be Read: This is a lovely snapshot of team love during Moebius, in that bittersweet empty canvas of time after they realized they could never get back to modern-day Colorado, but before the rebellion that would leave three of them dead. Humor, friendship, snark, delightful characterization: it's a comfort of sorts to imagine that SG-1 did have good days like this, once in a while.

It crosses with Leverage, but speaking as someone who knows absolutely nothing about that show whatsoever, it also reads excellently as an OC smart-mouth hacker who tries to break into NORAD's security at exactly the wrong time for his own good.

Fabulous outsider POV, fun Siler and Reynolds cameos, Jack in superb form, and the slow realization of the episode in question - it all adds up to a great story that you're sure to enjoy!

Why This Must Be Read: Paian and Princess of G and Sid did a stunning collaboration here, as Teal'c weighs his experiences with the Tau'ri and considers the meaning of ritual, friendship, and the depths that can often be found in simplicity.

There is magnificent Teal'c POV, written with gravity and choice turns of phrase. Teal'c looks back at his habits over the years and his connections with Jack, at the weight of their burdens and challenges and the choices they make for the sake of others. It's all wrapped up in Jack's fondness for cliches and the benefits of long, hot showers; but there are layers and layers here, waiting to be read with careful thought and even deeper appreciation.

This is the Teal'c I love, and the Jack he respects: the warrior friendship bond at its absolute best.
