Why This Must Be Read: Fanboy!Mitchell is always my favorite incarnation of Cam. So here he is, all shiny and new, gleefully watching Daniel do his diplomatic thing and having the time of his life. Lots of snark, great banter, and an extra dollop of teamy goodness with Sam and Teal'c at the end. Squee!

Cam couldn't help but grin, grimy and exhausted though he was. "That was my first simple-mission-that-went-to-hell," he said, proudly.

Why This Must Be Read: This fic, told from Mitchell's POV, offers a superb insight into Daniel, his time with the Ancients, and his reaction and advice regarding Khalek. This is the kind of characterization that slots so neatly into canon that it clicks and becomes a kind of canon of your own. Thoughtful Cam, sharp Daniel -- all good. :)

Daniel laughs softly as they sit. "You'd think that the whole ascended descended thing would hit the limit for people being weirded out by me, but I guess not."

"They're not used to Daniel Jackson the shoot first variety, I guess," Cam returns.

Why This Must Be Read: In this thoughtful post-Ark of Truth story, Cameron is perceptive enough to recogize certain warning signals regarding Dr. Daniel Jackson and head him off at the pass. I love the deliberate calm of Cameron here, the gradual spreading of his spinning web to include the entire team, and his wry acknowledgment that of course Daniel would never leave things as they are. Excellently insightful, and well worth the read!

Why This Must Be Read: Cleo takes us right back to Cam's very first encounter with SG-1, when he was hospitalized for months after his F-302 crash-landed in Antarctica. Frustrated after a painful therapy session, it takes a visit from a certain archaeologist to inspire Cameron to find the determination to literally get back on his feet and give himself a new future.

Cleo weaves many of the events of the first half of S8 into the conversation, and gives us a plausible explanation of Cameron's choices. Determination is a nice look at Daniel and Cameron's first real meeting, and it does an excellent job of setting events into motion for Cameron's appointment to SG-1 at the SGC.

Why This Must Be Read: Daniel and Cameron, on a mission gone bad. Literally hobbled, filthy, exhausted, worried about their teammates, chased by natives...

And still in grand snark mode with delightful characterization!

With excellent world-building, wonderful banter, plenty of action, "Strategic Body Heat Preservation," some extra help from Sam, and a truly hilarious cameo from Teal'c and Vala, Watching Long in Hope and Fear is a lively, entertaining fic that you're sure to enjoy.

Why This Must Be Read: Daniel comes to Cameron's rescue when he's targeted on-world, and Cam has a terrible epiphany.

That summarizes the story neatly, but it doesn't do justice to Kellifer's marvelous skills in giving us great Cam-voice and an almost viciously accurate insight into how Daniel's mind works. And Cam's sudden, horrible fear of what might happen on his watch, when there's nothing he might be able to do to stop it...

Kellifer's stories always feature stellar characterization, and this one is definitely a keeper.

Cameron realises this is a thing with Daniel, stepping in front of death and waving his arms about, saying take me instead.

Why This Must Be Read: One of Cam's less charming habits (to me, anyway) is the sheer recklessness that has sometimes endangered the team. In this thoughtful ficlet, set in early to mid-season 9, Daniel recognizes the root causes... and calls him on it.

The perils of expectations, the demand for perfection, and the support that comes with teamy goodness - it's all here, and it's all good.

Why This Must Be Read: This fic is short, sweet, and hilarious.

Cameron begs Daniel to allow for a few "omissions" on his report. Then he discovers exactly why that's not necessarily a good thing...

Snark and humor and deft characterization, all in one delightful ficlet. Go read and laugh!
