Why This Must Be Read: This gorgeous story, spanning multiple seasons, examines the character of Jack, Sam, Daniel, and Teal'c respectively, based on their approach to being a godparent. From the obvious canon example of Cassie to the the pre-SGC days of Jack's years out in the field, these are beautiful and thoughtful - especially Teal'c's, who observes each of his teammates and then makes his own personal choice.
