Why This Must Be Read: When Jack is badly wounded off-world late in Season Two, Daniel has to get him safely back to Earth...

Yes, that's right. Daniel rescues Jack.

Most of the fic takes place from Daniel's POV, as he struggles to put himself into the military and strategic mindset to dodge Jaffa patrols and win access to the Stargate; but concussed Jack's POV is definitely a pleasure to read, too. My favorite moments include the scene in which a half-conscious Jack still does "my job," and Daniel plays to his strengths to create the perfect diversion at the Gate.

Despite the overemphasis on pacifist Daniel, this excellent story is well worth the read!
