Why This Must Be Read: This exciting story has a distinct episodic feel, with  each member of SG-1 getting a chance to shine in the spotlight.

A collapsing floor leaves SG-1 trapped offworld, knowing it will be days before a rescue team is sent after them. As time slowly passes, different members of the team begin to act strangely out-of-character. Is it just irritation and pain causing them to snipe at one another, or is there something else happening – something deadly?

Eve writes a fair mystery here, as the clues are right there in front of us. It took me nearly as long as Daniel to figure out what was really happening. Why not read this fic yourself, and see how long it takes you? :)

Drama and teamy goodness and friendship, sprinkled with bits of humor and one of the best, unexpected lines you’ll ever imagine Teal’c saying. Read this one and enjoy!

"So, you thought of anything yet, Major?"

A wry smile on her face, Sam replied, "Well, sir, how about... am I bleeding?"

Jack was about to quip that he didn't know that one when the impact of the statement got to him.

"Where?!"

She turned her head and Jack saw a line of black liquid running down her face. Rubbing it carefully, he saw more land on the back of his hand. He looked upwards.

Remembering himself, he said, "You're not bleeding. It's something dripping out of the device. Feels kinda oily."

Daniel's voice appeared, "Uh, guys...?"

"Daniel?"

"What's that sound?"

Listening, Jack heard a metallic groaning. As it grew in volume, the whole place began to shake again. Knowing there was nothing he could do for himself, he said, "Daniel, get Teal'c over next to the wall!"

As Daniel began to try moving Teal'c, Jack stretched himself as far as he could to try and keep Carter sheltered from any loose masonry that might fall. Ducking his head, he heard an explosion and, suddenly, it was raining stone. Yow! Sharp stones. Not big ones but painful when they stabbed into the exposed flesh of his neck. There was also the unpleasant feeling like cold yoghurt running down his back.

After a few seconds, Jack realised that the shaking had ceased and, tentatively, looked up. Around him and Carter, there was a pool of that same black liquid. Scattered in it, there were shards of what looked to be black glass. That would be the sharp rain then. As if to confirm it, he felt back to his neck and, sure enough, found several chunks of the black crystal embedded there. Carefully levering them out, he heard Carter say, "Sir?"

"We're okay, Major."

"I... sir, I think I'm starting to see something."

Before Jack could say anything, Daniel said, "Are you two okay?"

Looking up with black slime dripping down his face, Jack replied, "Oh just peachy, Daniel."
