Why This Must Be Read: Here's a nice twist on the Sam and Daniel friendship: Moebius!Daniel and AU!Samantha, sitting on the sands of Ancient Egypt. Even more, Betty offers us a rarity in a Moebius!Daniel who is at peace with the choices he's made, and is optimistic about a future that he will never get to see, but which he is content to know will happen once again... and an AU!Samantha who is ready to hear about the woman she once was, even if it's never going to fit what she is right now.
Most Daniel fans are horrified at the sheer pain that Moebius inflicted on him. Betty not only gives him solace, but also gives him a friendship with Samantha - not the same, certainly, as the one he had with Sam, but a hopeful one nonetheless.
