Why This Must Be Read: This new and fantastic ficlet gives us early S1 Hammond and Teal'c, way back at the very beginning. Beanpot does a lovely Teal'c POV, showing us his uncertainties and the great leap of faith it took to step over the precipice and throw in his lot with SG-1. He's still not quite certain of his decision, feeling isolated and very much uncomfortable... until a certain "Hammond of Texas" joins him at the table in the commissary, and puts his doubts to rest by simply being his usual awesome self.
