Why This Must Be Read: In this charming story, Teal’c pays Sam a surprise visit while she’s working in Area 51 in S9, before either of them return to SG-1. For Sam, there’s the sheer relief of talking to someone who sees her as herself, not the celebrity that once blew up a sun; for Teal’c, there’s the pleasure of spending time with a good friend instead of dwelling on the uncomfortable feeling that his fellow Jaffa perceive him as a redeemer. As an extra bonus, Teal’c offers us a lovely in-canon explanation for why there’s no Sam interaction in those early episodes. Most of all, though, Geonn offers us the opportunity to spend some time with two wonderful people who are utterly at ease with themselves and each other.

 

Read this one for the warm fuzzies and great characterization. You’ll find yourself smiling when you’re done.
