Why This Must Be Read: This fic is bleakly beautiful, a snapshot of early S1 Daniel struggling with the incongruence of what his life was and what it has become. It's a study of contradictions: Earth and Abydos and Earth again, the wonder of Stargate missions and the banality of needing to dust his apartment when he goes home. The joy of discovering new civilizations and new/old languages, and the anguish over Sha're's unbearable fate.

Daniel has always been a study in contrasts. In Incongruence, Frostfire does a lovely job of showing us how he copes with the extreme disparities of his life.
