Why This Must Be Read: This is a beautiful, sweet coda to the final Ori arc, as Bra'tac and Teal'c meet again in a galaxy truly at peace. I love this for the mutual respect, the unspoken wealth of words beneath the surface, and the quiet triumph of two old men who have achieved their greatest dreams.

Never had they met this way without another battle on the near horizon. Never had they met this way in a time of peace. Never, in all their lives, had they known a time of peace..

Why This Must Be Read: I almost tagged this as "original character" just because of the fish. :) (There are original characters here, too.)

This delightful, insightful story takes a few seconds from Fire and Water and uses that brief snapshot of Daniel's aquarium to create an entire series arc that begins with the acquisition of a fish called Mac at the beginning of S1 and ends after Ark of Truth with, well...

There's friendship and wry humor and thoughtful observation and heart-wrenching grief, and it's both outsider POV and Daniel POV all in one. A very satisfying and intriguing read!

Why This Must Be Read: Here's some oldskool fic to brighten your day!

In the wake of One False Step, various members of the SG-1 reach out to one another to make amends after their various dustups while under the influence of off-key singing plants. (That's an accurate description of the episode, but it sounds like the crackiest summary of the crackiest fanfic ever, doesn't it?) It's deft, wry, and perfectly in character - and a very satisfying coda to the episode.

The slow and steady beat of their understanding wove its way across the phone line, un-vocalized but not unheard, like the deep and vital tones of an alien world.

Why This Must Be Read: Lovely Sam POV that is quite literally the sweetness of team bonding via baked goods, with Daniel playing host. You've heard of the language of flowers? Daniel speaks cookies, cake, and pie, too!

Teamy goodness, a light dose of angst, and a slight warning for probable cravings by the time you reach the satisfactory ending. :)

Jack liked cake, so after each time he and Daniel went at it, after whatever tiff they had ran its course, Daniel would show up with four slices of red velvet or tres leches or plain old chocolate cake, and Jack would give him a twitchy smile, and Daniel would reciprocate with a twitchy smile of his own, and Sam would relax for the first time that week, catching Teal’c’s eye. They ended up eating a lot of cake..
