Why This Must Be Read: All those keen bright shining recruits who come to the SGC... how do they appear to the veterans?
Here is a fabulous character sketch of the nature of risk and bravado and being older, sadder, and wiser - and sane.
This is thoughtful, painful, and wincingly good.
It’s the ones who don’t tremble with fear, who don’t have trouble with or even attempt to grasp the idea that the universe doesn’t give a damn about them… it’s those who the base worries about.
