Why This Must Be Read: Yes, this is Fig Newton reccing an SGA story!
No, you have not accidentally stumbled into an alternate universe. :)
Synecdochic presents us with a delightful alternative to the premiere of SGA: one in which the characters actually think before they act. Weeks of planning precede the opening of the Stargate on Earth, with actual rehearsals so that no time is wasted when the precious ZPM is being drained. Decisions are made with logic and logistics in mind. These are characters that the reader can respect as truly representing the "best and brightest" that the Tau'ri would send to represent the Earth in a different galaxy.
This was clearly written with a great deal of love and respect for the show and the characters.. I've never gotten into SGA myself; aside from Pegasus Project, my sole exposure to the show is the first 20 minutes of Rising. But if the storyline had gone like this... well, read it and see for yourself!
