"You have to admit they set themselves up for these things sometimes," she says. "They're so serious."
"I think you would not find O'Neill so easy to deceive if he were here," Teal'c says.
"Yes, well, Daniel said I was lucky that Jack wasn't in charge here anymore, because he'd probably have kept me in a depressing little cell rather than letting me 'wander around and annoy people.'" She makes air quotes around Daniel's turn of phrase, an Earth gesture she's decided she likes.
"It is possible," Teal'c says, but he doesn't really sound like he believes it. "But I have always found him to have an appreciation of well-played trickery."
"Next time they won't believe I don't know the rules, though."
"Then we will beat them without cheating," Teal'c says.
"Without cheating much," Vala says. "Just enough to keep things … entertaining and challenging."
"As you say," Teal'c says, inclining his head with the barest hint of a smile.
